I dropped in on the Phinney FM at the Phinney Neighborhood Assoc. building, running into Jenny
and found that Port Madison Farms from Bainbridge Is. sells out of yogurt pretty quickly! The vendor told me that PCC sells it, so perhaps I’ll stop to get some the next time I’m biking the Burke-Gilman Trail. There’s some reason I’m craving yogurt — I stopped by Ballard Market afterwards and succumbed to Greek brand yogurt, made by an outfit in Mountlake Terrace — perhaps the craving is because it’s such an important source of calcium for me.
I foolishly stopped at the Couth Buzzard used bookstore before hitting the farmers market, looking for Christine Downing’s The Goddess:Mythological Images of the Feminine, and ended up walking out with Jean Huston’s The Search for the Beloved: Journeys in Sacred Psychology and Clarissa Pinkola Estes’ Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype. (I admit that I am completely addicted to buying books…and music.) I prefer to spend cash with local merchants, because credit card processing fees are so high, and I’d rather 100% of my money go into their coffers, rather than incur additional overhead costs. Unfortunately, I had less cash than I realized which prevented me from grabbing a pastry from Little Prague Bakery (m?am! to si musÃm dovolit ;-), and a few other tasty treats, such as more berries…but the Santa Rosa plums and Shamrock apples from Tiny’s Organic filled the little plastic bags which I brought with me for re-use, and some tasty cherries will also be on the menu for this weekend.

Oops, Artemis, I am the one who bought the last 3 tubs of yogurt!
